8-Week Standard Plan

Best for: Test in 8–10 weeks, starting from Band 5.0+

Weeks 1–2Foundation & Diagnosis
Solid understanding of exam format; clear weaknesses identified
  • Take a full mock test to establish your baseline band score
  • Study IELTS format: understand all 4 skills and question types
  • Listening: practice note-completion and multiple choice daily
  • Reading: learn skimming, scanning, and paragraph matching
  • Writing: study Task 1 and Task 2 structure and band descriptors
  • Speaking: record yourself; identify pronunciation and fluency issues
  • Vocabulary: build academic word list (AWL) — 10 words per day
Weeks 3–4Core Skill Development
Consistent improvement in all 4 skills
  • Listening: complete 1 full test per week; focus on sections 3 & 4
  • Reading: complete 2 passages per week; focus on inference questions
  • Writing Task 2: write 3 essays per week; use AI feedback each time
  • Writing Task 1: practice line graphs and bar charts
  • Speaking: practice Part 1 and Part 2 topics daily (10 minutes)
  • Grammar: review conditionals, passive voice, and complex sentences
Weeks 5–6Exam Technique Mastery
Confident with all question types; consistent timing
  • Listening: master distractor recognition and prediction strategies
  • Reading: TRUE/FALSE/NOT GIVEN — practice 20 questions per week
  • Writing: master Task 2 argument development and cohesive devices
  • Writing Task 1: process diagrams and maps
  • Speaking: Part 3 — practice giving extended answers with examples
  • Take a full timed mock test at the end of Week 6
Weeks 7–8Mock Tests & Final Preparation
Peak performance; exam confidence
  • Complete 2 full mock tests under real exam conditions
  • Analyse results: focus only on your weakest question types
  • Writing: rewrite your lowest-scoring essays using AI feedback
  • Speaking: record a full mock interview; review with AI feedback
  • Vocabulary: review all words from your notebook
  • Day before exam: light review only — rest and prepare logistics
