The 30-Day IELTS Study Plan to Reach Band 7

A day-by-day study schedule covering all four skills, with daily practice targets, resources, and progress checkpoints.

Before You Start: Set Your Baseline

Before following this plan, take a full mock test to identify your current band score and weakest skill. This plan assumes you are currently at Band 5.5–6.0 and want to reach Band 7 within 30 days of intensive study.

Week 1: Foundation (Days 1–7)

Day 1–2

Reading

Study True/False/Not Given and Matching Headings strategies. Complete 1 full Reading section with timing.

Day 3–4

Listening

Study all 4 section types. Practice note completion and MCQ prediction techniques. Complete 2 Listening sections.

Day 5–6

Writing

Study Task 2 essay structures (Opinion, Discussion, Problem/Solution). Write one full Task 2 essay.

Day 7

Speaking

Study Part 1 common topics. Record yourself answering 10 Part 1 questions. Listen back and note weaknesses.

Week 2: Skill Building (Days 8–14)

Day 8–9

Writing

Task 1 Academic: bar charts, line graphs, pie charts. Write one Task 1 and one Task 2. Get AI feedback.

Day 10–11

Reading

Sentence completion and MCQ strategies. Complete 2 full Reading sections under timed conditions.

Day 12–13

Speaking

Study Part 2 cue cards. Practice 5 cue card responses (1 minute prep, 2 minutes speaking). Record and review.

Day 14

Vocabulary

Learn 30 high-frequency IELTS Academic Word List words. Use them in sentences. Review Vocabulary Builder.

Week 3: Intensive Practice (Days 15–21)

Day 15–16

Full Mock

Complete a full 4-skill mock test under exam conditions. Review all answers and identify error patterns.

Day 17–18

Writing

Focus on your weakest Task 2 essay type. Write 2 essays. Review band descriptors and self-assess.

Day 19–20

Listening

Focus on your weakest section type. Complete 3 Listening sections. Review all incorrect answers.

Day 21

Speaking

Part 3 abstract discussion practice. Record 5 Part 3 responses. Focus on extending answers with examples.

Week 4: Exam Preparation (Days 22–30)

Day 22–24

Weak Skills

Identify your two weakest skills from Week 3 mock. Spend 2 days on each with targeted practice.

Day 25–26

Full Mock

Second full mock test. Compare scores with Week 3. Aim for Band 7 in at least 2 skills.

Day 27–28

Review

Review all vocabulary lists. Re-read your best essays. Listen to IELTS-level English (BBC, TED Talks).

Day 29

Light Practice

One Reading section, one Speaking recording. No intensive study — rest your brain.

Day 30

Exam Day Prep

Review exam day logistics. Prepare documents. Sleep well. You are ready.
